Your growth potential

Every startup founder must understand the importance of making a good first impression while balancing business and emotional needs.

STEP 1

First take a moment to introduce yourself and your company. Give a high-level summary of what your company does without getting too into the weeds.

Visuals: On the slide itself, all you need is your logo, your product image, and your tagline.

STEP 2

What major issue are you resolving, and why should your audience be interested? This is your time to argue that the issue is one that merits tackling. All great businesses exist to address a real market need.

Visuals: Include keywords and images that relate but don’t over complicate your message.

STEP 3

What is your hypothesis now that you have clearly and convincingly stated the issue? You should be able to sum up your company’s operations and the value it offers to clients in a few succinct sentences. Keep it straightforward once more so that your granny can understand it.

Visuals: Include visuals of your product and service. There’s definitely no need to flood this.

STEP 4

Make a case for this round of investment in your company as you round out your pitch. Why should investors place a wager at this time? Why is this the ideal time for your business to raise money and expand quickly? Why is this area ready for change? This is your opportunity to ask the audience to take action.

Drive home the 3 key points of your pitch to keep investors thinking after you leave the stage.
